The midget ERA began in 1935 and led to the Bill Kenz, Roy Leslie combination that opened shop in 1938. The earliest midget was powered by an Indian motorcycle engine. V8 60's were the main power source for most of the midget championships. The 4 cylinder Offenhauser was used in some of the later cars. Kenz & Leslie team midgets were driven by such drivers as Roy Leslie, Johnny Parsons, and Johnny Tolan.  The third generation of K&L racers carries in to the 21st century with Mike Leslie's sprinters out of Phoenix, AZ.
